Easter Egg Dying

Dying eggs is a family favorite. Sierra wasn't able to join us but we went ahead with the tradition without our Magera. I mentioned to Bria and Ada to wear clothes they didn't care if they got stained and they both showed up half naked. Silly girls. Maybe we should all not wear clothes, laundry would be nonexistent.

Teesh found some creative ways of dying the eggs.

if you will notice, we have a few male figures in our photo. My friend needed a sitter so they joined in our family fun. Sean is the older one and Xander the babe in Teesh's arms.

Earlier that morning, we attended the community egg hunt in the park across the street. Bria and Ada were in separate groups so Teesh and Malia went with Ada, Corby and myself with Bria. Everyone came back with more than one child should ever have access to.

The community just throws the candy and coupons on the grass. The bell goes off and the kids run to fill their baskets. It takes about 2 minutes, if you are lucky. It is a fun tradition our girls have loved each year. We got coupons to Texas Road House, Apple Bees, and Dickey's BBQ. Free kids meals, score.

After the hunt, it was hilarious to see the girls baskets. Bria had a sampling of all the candy. Ada only had chocolate. When asked why only chocolate her response was "I only love Chocolate" that girl has too much of her daddy in her.

Final Spring Break Festivities

And for our final spring break celebrations, Sierra watched Ada for me while I went on a field trip with Bria then I met up with Sierra in the mall for a MAKE OVER. I have never done this before and boy was it fun. We went to Sephora and Sierra went first. I didn't get before shots just pretty much during and after but isn't she gorgeous? Her make up artist just kept saying Sierra could get away with most anything because of her natural beauty, that's my girl and I couldn't agree more Sierra is beautiful inside and out

 My turn! I had a different makeup artist. She had a great personality and we had a great time together. She was cracking me up with her comments.

 in the end it wasn't so bad, but I don't love looking at myself in the mirror for 45 minutes. I loved how she did my makeup and decided to make an early birthday purchase some products. Happy Birthday to me.

Thanks Sierra for a great afternoon and I wish we could have gone out on the town celebrating, darn life just gets in the way.

Bloomers

Malia is my determined goal achieving girl. As one of her 10 hour value projects she decided to learn how to make bloomers for herself then teach/assist the others to make theirs as well. Malia was so concerned it wouldn't take 10 hours but I assured her it would be plenty. She had the girls supply their own material, bed sheets, and they brought them to our home. Next we bought a pattern and other supplies. We thought we were set to begin the task at hand. Now, as a side note, I am not a seamstress at all. I can hem a few things and make simple things but patterns are out of my league. Malia did not mention her sewing plans with me until it was pretty much too late to change her mind so we went with the idea hoping for the best. The pattern was a nightmare and long story short I called on my good friend Karen to assist us in this undertaking. It took over 10 hours and purchasing another pattern and then borrowing another pattern to finally be ready to sew.  Malia did great. Karen showed her what to do and Malia cut out all the girls bloomers. It all turned out. If you are dying to know, yes she more than exceeded her 10 hours and learned a lot. Malia you are a sweet angel and I am so proud of you.

14 Years Mafria

Rise and Shine Sunshine, today is your birthday!  

We have a fun filled day planned. No time for sleeping, rise and shine. I love it when birthdays fall on the weekend so we have plenty of time for spoiling.

We sure missed Teesh during our festivities but that's part of flying the coop I guess. Malia chose Denny's for breakfast, win win. They celebrate birthdays by giving birthday girl her meal free!

Birthday girl was so excited to open her gifts so without further delay we opened gifts. She was thrilled with the heavy heavy hang over they poor head game.

Victory! Just what she wanted right along with an I tunes gift card.

Oh my goodness can she get any prettier! 

We love you Malia Ruth, what a joy you are.

We invited Grandma Hansen and Avery  for pizza. I asked Malia what kind she wanted and she replied "I don't know little Caesars?" I responded, "Um, no not for your 14 birthday, we are going big for the birthday girl!" We love this place. They have several awesome pizzas, if you have never been, go, your life will change because of it, ha ha.

I took Malia out shopping for some unmentionables and other fun things. We made a day of it and were gone for hours. Malia is so fun to talk with. She makes me laugh. She is so smart and funny. I couldn't be more proud of her!

So you have Alfredo sauce with Canadian bacon and pineapple, BBQ sauce with chicken and red onions, or a pesto chicken with mushrooms. It's a toss up which is the best! Bria was a hungry girl, she ate three large pieces plus her salad.

After pizza, we went home for cake and ice cream and movie watching. Jaren and Cindy with a few girls showed up for the celebrating.

We made it easy on the birthday girl, only two candles.

Malia reported that this was the best birthday ever! Success, that was what we were shooting for.

Election

Sierra called me on Friday and reported she was written in and was now running for HAW President. I knew she was interested in running for secretary but this was quite a shock. Knowing Corby and I were leaving in a few days, we had Friday evening and Saturday to help Sierra create:

Lots of people came to our rescue, letting us borrow crickets, and giving suggestions. Thanks, we couldn't have pulled this off without your help. Bria got into the groove of the poster making and produced this for Sierra. It was so cute she made it without any help not even with spelling. Breeta is my growing up little kindergartener.

We cruised from the airport to Highland High to catch our rock star, rapping Sierra perform her skit. She asked a kid named JT to help her out. He was all over being on the stage performing with Sierra and two of her friends, Clara and Sylvia. It was so fun seeing Sierra perform and watch her personality blossom. If the loudness of cheering from the audience says anything Sierra you got this!

I loved that when the skit was complete Sierra bolted for the exit. Slow down little Magera!

During different parts of the assembly volunteers were called upon. Ada raised her hand so boldly hoping to be chosen.

The skit was Monday and the candidates would find out results of voting Friday.....it was nail biting but Sierra won! There has only been one other write in that has won in the history of Highland High. Sierra is going to rock this position like no other.. So proud of you girl!

I sneaked up and found Sierra's car in the parking lot. I decorated it and filled it full of her favorite candy, drink, balloons and goodies. She was surprised to find her car had been heart attacked from her family!

The students hung the winner's names on the outside of the building. Look Sierra is famous!
