Soldier Hollow

For our March Family Outing, tubing was the vote. We went up to Midway to enjoy some freshly man-made snow. The weather has been beautiful, which melted the snow leaving us with less than desirable tubing conditions. It wasn't perfect snow, but it was still fun and we all enjoyed ourselves. Here we are dressing for the adventure.

 Ada insisted on wearing her sunglasses, this girls cracks me up!

 I got to join in on the family shoot as a kind man offered to take our picture.

 So this is how it worked, you chose a tube and walked up to the pulley. Isn't this just the cutest sight,, Ada and Corby hand in hand. Melt my heart!

 Breeta is next

 As I was about to get on the pulley, I hear giggles and turn around to see this. Ada is giggling so hard as she makes her first time down the mountain. If only I had a video camera, it was such a precious sound. The snow was a little mushy so it kept you from going too fast down the mountain which worked out perfect for a few of our family members. Bria was told by a classmate that people who tube or sled break their leg so that was all I heard from her. Am I going to break my leg momma?

 Sierra decided she had had enough so to the Yukon this girlie went.

 Teesh help me take the two little ones into the lodge to warm by the fire. It was so cozy and nice.

 I made chocolate chip cookies to celebrate with after our tubing and here's where the last cookie was divided in half. Ada grabbed the larger half  and Bria feels slighted. Oh Girls, you'll be OK, there is more than enough sugar for our entire family.

We went down multiple times and all really loved it. The wind started blowing and a couple of times down I caught it just right and man did I catch some air. I felt like I was flying, and at times, I actually was. Such a fun family evening. Snow is my favorite!

First of 4 Spring Breaks

Teesh starts the first of four Spring Breaks. 

We have all five children in school, four different schools, as a result, we have four spring breaks. Kind of makes it impossible to go on a trip don't ya think. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed Teesh for the 10 days we had her. We made hamburgers and hot dogs out of play dough

 And I am not sure what this creation is but it looks delish....

 Teesh also taught and made us donuts. They were so fun and yummy. Probably ate more than our fair share but hey its memory making.

 I love the life skills Leticia is learning while away in the big wide world.

Teesh also chopped 6" from her hair. It is so darling and looks great for Spring time. She got her teeth cleaned and we tried to get an eye appointment in there as well but just ran out of time.

Teesh so graciously offered to watch the little girls and do my carpool, mother duties so Corby and I could go to Midway for a marriage seminar, more on that later. Thanks Teesh we truly could not have done it without, thank you thank you.

Achievement

My girls love love love the park. They equally love to swing which means I stand and push what seems like an hour. This year is a new leaf for this momma. I taught Ada to pump herself. What a professional she turned out to be. Go Ada Go!

After the park, Ada was cold, so we came home for a few extra layers.

Wama......Sierra

One night rather late our door bell rings. My heart skips a beat and I immediately think emergency. Sierra says, "don't answer it, I think I am getting asked to a school dance." Corby being the obedient father runs to the door as a car sped away. This was what greeted us!

Not only does Sierra go to EVERY dance at Highland High, she is now attending other school's dances too! So cool, Magera

Her date is Tanner Wagaman. He seemed to be a really nice guy. He asked when she needed to be home and I promptly replied we like 10:30 but we will make an exception for tonight. I am so hilarious!

Sierra said she had a good time but it was awkward at times not knowing most of the others. Their group was 10 couples. They ate dinner at Smash burger, headed to the dance, then the guys rented out a theater and they all watched Gravity with Sandra Bullock, jealous! Sierra got home around 1:45AM

It is always relieving when I hear those precious feet come into my room and say, "I'm home!"

Basketball Hyrum Style

Teesh had the opportunity to play basketball with Aunt Janalberries. They got to go to Coordinating Counsel and Teesh even started this game. I had spoken to Teesh earlier in the day and I began brainstorming how fun it would be to surprise Teesh by showing up at her game. I got the address from Janalee and plans were set. We weren't able to leave until 7 as Sierra had a date and I wanted to meet the gentlemen taking my precious girl out for the evening. So as soon as Tanner and Sierra left we bolted to Nibley to two of my favorite people play ball.

Brynlee is the blur. What a fun surprise for Bria and Ada to get to spend some time with cousins.

In the end we won! Yay for winning. 

We treated Teesh and her friends to ice cream at McDonald's and  let the cousins have some more play time. It was so fun to be spontaneous! I need more of that in my life. Congrats on the win Leticia and Janalee.

Crazy Day Crazy Hair

So at Creative World, aka Preschool, its spirit week. Today is crazy hair day. Ada wanted pony tails all over so that is what little Missy got!

Miss Ada Rae you need to stop growing up. Oh how I love you my sweetie baby girl.

To go along with crazy hair day I dropped my mascara down the sink and it fell all the way down.  Plumber Corby to the rescue, he saved the day!

Breeta/Flower

Bria is such an older spirit in a young body. She knows how to problem solve. She saved up her money to purchase a stuffed animal dog which she immediately named, Flower. She loved Flower so much she accidentally tugged a little too hard on one of the ears and off it popped! She knows I am not a seamstress and that Grandma Hansen is.  She also knew we were having a get together where Grandma MIGHT attend so Bria brought her dog just in case. Now, you need to know all of this was done without my knowledge!  Apparently during the visit, Bria, gave Grandma, Flower, and asked if she could fix the ear.

 So this transaction happened Saturday and Thursday I am getting out of the shower and Bria greets me in my room holding Flower. She said,"I knew Grandma would fix Flower." I am completely confused and ask for more details. She said, "I saw a box on our porch when I got home from school, I knew it was for me, so I opened it". I see next to the box, a razor sharp knife(heaven help me what goes on when a mom just wants to shower) Luckily no damage was done and Flower has been reunited with her loving owner all healed and 100%

 Breeta, I love you. You amaze me with your problem solving skills. You are so sweet and much much older than just 6 years old.
