Never to forget

Bria worked so hard in Kindergarten to produce these masterpieces. We have them hung tenderly on our fridge. Love the reindeer with the pink nose, precious.

Ada got to celebrate 100 days since beginning preschool. She also can count to 100 as well
What a priceless moment this was. I was visiting with a friend and turn around to see this. Bria what are you thinking. In the middle of winter this was her choice of attire, oh the laughs we have enjoyed with Bria and her imagination.

Christmas Eve/Morning

Christmas Eve Fondue. Jaren and Cindy were kid free this year so they joined us in the fun. I grew up with fondue every Christmas Eve. It really is the perfect meal for a busy time of year. Just cube up steak and chicken, thaw the shrimp, bake potatoes and cut up veggies. The work comes with everyone cooking their own meat. Don't let your meat fall from the skewer or else you will have to kiss your neighbor. Teesh sadly wasn't with us this evening. She was lucky enough to land a seasonal job with UPS and ended up working till 10:30 Christmas Eve. She is such  a trooper to endure those long hard hours. One kind customer receiving her package took pity on my Teesh LaReesh working so late and handed her a $10 gift card to Chili's. See there is kindness in this world of ours.
Because I had most everything ready for the morning we were able to stay up until 1:30 playing games with Jaren and Cindy. My favorite past time.

We are ready for Christmas Morning
 Dora electric toothbrush, joy
This elephant was wished for every chance Bria could. It was a little sad,  Ada was with me when it was purchased and she unfortunately saw it. I had to create a story for the purchase so that it could remain a surprise for Bria on Christmas morning. I told Ada I was getting it for a friend's daughter. As expected, Ada told Bria all about the elephant for Sady. Bria played with it for one day before giving it to the rightful owner. Bria broke my heart several times asking if she could just sleep with elephant once before it had to go away. She brought me her money asking if she had enough to purchase herself an elephant. The stress this creature created. Her face lit up when Bria entered the room seeing what awaited her on the couch. True Love.

Corby, our goof ball, opening his surprise

Every year, after all the gifts have been opened, the other girls get sent on a scavenger hunt to find their final gift. How does Corby come up with the creative rhymes to send the girls all over the house inside and out but he never disappoints.

sweet pan to the face girls, oops.

 Play Doh.

What a wonderful time of year to reflect on the birth of our Savior. Let us always remember the Reason for the Season.
Merry Christmas

Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas
DeLayne and Jodi headed up the Hansen Party. We gathered early, just to shake things up a bit. We got a huge snow storm a few days ago and the night before this gathering, so traveling was not ideal. Grateful for Corby and his ability to maneuver our Yukon, with no 4 wheel drive, through some treacherous conditions. We saw a 4 car accident, a 2 car accident, and one vehicle slide perpendicular across all 5 lanes of traffic on I15. Cool, Not!
We were a bit late but made it safely. We ate a breakfast casserole, blueberry biscuits, muffins, fruit and orange juice and milk. Pretty good tasting with the homemade salsa provided.

Hi Ron!
Everytime I would go to take a photo, this face would appear, photo bomber. I love ya Ron, you give life the spice we need.
Kloee enduring Corby and his rocket game he loves to play with infants. He jiggles them while shooting them up towards the sky. His favorite part is when their chubby cheeks jiggle. Kloee didn't seem to mind the rocket.
The little kids all tend to gather around Grandma to eat. Bria and Ada were so excited to see Grandma.
Kloee almost 6 months old. Oh, she just melts my heart. Such a cutie Kloee Mae
Troy and Tanya made it to the gathering. Ethan is growing up with his ear buds in and Arianna with her self curled hair. Where is the time going? Thanks Troy for wearing clothes this go around even if it's your work uniform.

After breakfast. we were each asked to bring a wrapped gift of our favorite snack or treat. Corby happily volunteered to make rice crispy treats for our family. We had to wrap them in disguise. We went around the room and you got to chose a gift from the table or some one elses gift. If you stole someone elses gift, you had to use the name of the item in a sentence saying something nice about the individual you were stealing it from. For example, chocolate covered pretzels, flips. I would flip for you because you are so amazing.
Some of the lines were quite a stretch but it was fun for the kids.

Sierra photo bombing my shot of the group. Kathleen had to be begged to play the game with us. Wow! Eventually she joined in even though she is "too stupid" to play this game.
Tina, in the purple hoodie, dressed William, on Nathan's lap, in red with a shirt that said, "I am going to be a big brother" I spotted this and confirmed that it was most certainly an announcement. Yay, baby #3 due in July. Nathan just graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from Weber State, great great great! So much to celebrate for the little cute family.
 continued photo bombing.........
These three little cuties chose the wrong place to sit for the game, they were last to choose a gift. They waited patiently though and each ended up with a desired treat.
William had so much fun with this box surfing. What a cutie and he is most definitely almost 2.

Ada's gift was a bag of nerds. Every child's dream come true, boxes and boxes of little tiny pieces of candy..awesome!
When it was Corby's turn to go retrieve a gift of course he had to travel in style, cartwheel style. Love that crazy boy.
Bria stealing Ron's jolly rancher's. Way to be brave little Breeta.
If you spend any amount of time with Corby he has the nickname garbage boy. He loves to take out the full trash cans. It is an obsession! So funny. See the sweater Corby is wearing, He wore that puppy when we were engaged and now 20 years later still wears it. So it is a bit out of style and when Corby arrived at the party Saxton, a nephew, said "see Dad, I told you to wear your ugly sweater Corby did" Ha Ha isn't that hilarious. Poor Corby. Hope Santa brings him some updated sweaters.
It would not be a Hansen gathering if the children did not find the nursery in the building. Score for the new toys we get to play with. Ada, Brynlee and Bria!
Sweet Brynlee. She gave each of my girls a necklace. So thoughtful!
 Tobias, Kale and Brynlee
Malia and Emery out playing with icicles. Corby dared Malia to take a lick but she politely declined

Troy works at the airport. He had to leave early to make his shift. He recently bought a new man car, blue Ford Focus. He also learned that if you leave the wipers off the windshield then as he is demonstrating your windshield will be oh so smooth. He is a character!

No gathering is complete without some sort of sport played.

William came up to Ada Rae and wrapped his arms around her. It was so darling. Two year olds can be so dang cute. Ada is not so sure about the affection.
Corby swinging the kids around. Nathan caught mid sentence and action asking his wife if she was ready to take off. Great look Nathan.

Bria and Brynlee are so cute together. As we were departing they told each other they would never forget one another. Look at the embrace of love.
Parker saw that I had my camera out and insisted on telling and showing me his latest talents. Two teeth gone and one on the top loose. So cool Parker and he isn't even 6 Bria tells me. She is a bit jealous because she is 6 and has no signs of loose teeth.
 Twinsies!
After the official gathering was completed, we met up with Janalberries and her family for a little lunch and playtime. We grabbed lunch at panda express for our older girls then headed to mcworms(janalee's word) for some cousin playtime. So heart warming to see my girls interact with fun loving cousins. I might have shed a tear, sniff sniff.
 Are you stuck little cutie?
 misery loves company
and we will end with Miss Kloee Mae, what a fidgety cutie. She is at the hilarious stage where you smile at her and she smiles back with her entire body. Oh how I love babies, that aren't mine ;)
