Spooktacular

Halloween time is getting busier and busier every year. I wonder how we will squeeze it all in but some how it works out and we always end up with way more than any family should get or have to eat of sugar.
First activity:  neighborhood trunk-or-treat.
Love this tradition because you get all your treats in 15 minutes. Then we go inside for chili or soup and games. I always bring chili each year but this year decided to enter it in the chili contest and guess what? I won 2nd place. Can I tell you a secret? Promise to never, never tell? Promise? OK, I used deer meat in my chili. Now my question to you, if people knew, would they even try it? and yet without knowing, I won 2nd place. Deep thoughts to ponder. See venison is good people, if you know how to cook it and I do!

Ada my devil and Bria the bumble bee. Ada would say, "what am I again, mom?" A devil Ada. "What is a devil mom?" How do you answer that? She does make a darling red devil you must admit.

 2nd Activity....Gardener Village
We went late Saturday evening. The last night of the witches are out, funness. It was so crowded but music was playing and it was a hip hoppin place. I loved the evening spent with my family.

Teesh day dreaming of her boyfriend
We ran into a live owl, so cool. The girls were apprehensive to get too close, I don't blame them. Look at those creepy eyes.

I am not sure what he is supposed to be but we just had to get a photo. Bria was so concerned that he did not have any hands and super long arms. Great costume Dude!
This witch was brewing up a special potion. It was green and seeping out the faucet.
So Corby dropped us off and then went to find parking. This place is a super popular place so parking can be tricky. We were walking back to the vehicle and I see SUV'S parked in an almost vertical position. I said, who would park like that, then said, Corby did you park that same way. He lets out a giggle. The pictures are hard to see the angle but the back of our Yukon is almost touching the ground. Corby told us to pile in and he would back out. It was so scary because we are backing out on a busy road and I was so afraid we would tip over. We made it out alive but sheesh give a woman a heart attack.

Can you see Malia in the rear of the Yukon? She is frightened to death about being in while we back out. Corby also injured himself during this maneuver.
Activity 3....

Ada had a preschool Halloween party. She made a ghost with chocolate chips. Her love of Elmers glue is amazing. I think I need to purchase stock.

 Activity 4....

Carving Pumpkins

Activity 5.......

Old fashioned trick-or-treating

First stop,  our friend Madison, aka Snow White
Our neighbor really went all out this year. The girls were pretty nervous to approach the door.

Could you ask for better weather? Yes, we live in Utah and it is the end of October. Trick-or-treating with not even a jacket, perfection!
 our next friend, Lindsey
We made it out to Jaren and Cindy's for some fun.
Jaren really knows how to decorate for the holiday
Ghosts and goblins hanging from trees
When we finally got brave, we sat on the skeleton lap, ended up not being all that bad.
This decoration has been in the family for many moons, we named him Marcus the Carcus
 Aunt Cindy
Jaren hung bats all over his front yard with fishing line. It was so cool, if only they glowed in the dark, wow

The girls keep asking me when we will decorate our door, maybe next year little ones
This cool house had some one playing the organ and had people dressed up scary walking around
They handed out donuts and chocolate milk
Bria has declared dots as her favorite candy of year 2013
 Malia and her shadow Avery

 Ada showing her loot
 Bria and her load
I must say this Trick or Treating might one of the best in my opinion book.

Sing Around

Navigator Pointe doesn't celebrate holidays the traditional way. No parties. No Costumes.
No Nothing.
One might say, how mean, let kids be kids. It is a debatable topic, but for now, I kind of like no celebrating in school. Let the parents plan parties outside of school, which plenty do by the way. The way we do celebrate is by having sing around. Even the Kindergarteners go to Choir each day, sing arounds are where the children get to show off what they have been learning.  The song Bria performed was called "This Land is Your Land". Bria knew all the actions and was so smiley performing. Bria, being a Kindergartener, was busting her buttons to have her first performance. I wish I brought my different lens to zoom in so the shots aren't great but Bria was a cutie pie.

Ada has an obsession with hand sanitizer. I am not a germ a phobe so you won't find this stuff in our house, by every where we go it is present. Gold's Daycare is probably where the obsession began. Anyway, Ada knows where the stuff gets stored at NPA and she freely helps herself when ever given a  chance.
Here the front of our school. I love our logo

Good Job Bria on a great first sing around
