Sierra & Homecoming

Sierra was asked to Homecoming.  She came out of school to this lovely situation.

I have to say my favorite part are the stick people. Aren't they just so gorgeous.

In preparation for the big night we had an eyebrow waxing session by our one and only Teesh Lareesh.

We headed off to find the perfect dress for Sierra and had one stop on the way, Scheels. Dirty Dash was the following day so I needed to pick up our registration packets and since Scheels is close to South Towne Mall we combined trips. The girls wanted to ride the carousel and what would you know as Sierra was able to look out over the store she spotted a cute dress she wanted to check out.

Who would have thought that we would fall in love with the first dress we spotted high on the carousel. It was rather funny to think when people asked where did you get your dress from, "oh Scheels the outdoor store". Hey, whatever makes Sierra happy I was happy to buy her. This was her first dance as a 16 year old Junior.
We headed to the mall for the accessories and Ada could not resist trying on shoes of every color and size.
Bria wanted in on the action as well.
The day of the dance has finally arrived and we were lucky enough to have Sierra and four other girls all get ready in our basement bathroom. I provided hors doeuves like the other houses  Sierra has gotten ready at for previous dances. Mine were a little more simple but hey they were a hit.
Sierra was so concerned she would be taller than her date so Dad to the rescue. It was super funny when he appeared from the garage with the saw.
I ironed dresses, grabbed hairspray and other beautifying items and at lass they were all ready. Aren't they all so stunning. Do you love the one guy how he arrived early. Awkward!
Sierra wanted a picture with me. Sierra Jane you are beautiful inside and out.

Proud Parents!
Those boutonnieres are so special to pin on but eventually we figured it out.

Sierra went with Gannon

Do you see his shoes? Really, how can you miss them. All the guys showed up with suspenders. The girls were less than thrilled but it is a fashion statement for sure.

It was fun to have our house be the meeting place. What a fun group of girls and guys. They went to dinner at the Doh Doh Restaurant, Dance and then went to a haunted house, which Sierra loved. She is a thrill seeker. She arrived home after 2:15AM and that was the end of her first dance as a Junior. So fun Sierra I would ask you out Sierra if I was a boy, just sayin!

Circus

For the September Hansen gathering Malia was in charge. She planned, organized and saw through an adventurous outing. It was a day to remember. Way to go Malia Ruth, you know how to have a fantastic time.
We wanted to get down town early, as they always have a pre-show of the animals. With elephants being a favorite in our house at the moment multiple children wanted to get up close and personal with these gigantic animals. Corby dropped us off at the front of the Energy Solutions Center and went to secure free parking(do I need to remind you of our Anniversary "free" parking story?) We hurried to get in line to few the animals only to find a sign that said, "Due to construction, there will be no pre-show". Heartbroken girls;(

So to try to make it less painful we hopped on trax and headed to City Creek.

Sierra and Malia checked out the Apple Store and eyed the ever so desired IPhone 5C while the rest of us looked at the fish, waterfalls and other attractions. It was so fun and relaxing.

After we sufficiently used up our pre-show time, we boarded trax and headed to the circus. We found our seats, nose bleed section but hey we could still see, kind of. After the show, I was talking to Jaren, my bro-in-law, and he announced he could have gotten us super great seats for only $5.00 more. I told him the next time that conversation happens it needs to be with me rather than Corby. All in all it was great but to be a little closer would have been nice as well as not being above the tightrope walkers  might have created a different mood as well. Oh well, next time we will do different. No one complained of our seats so that makes me happy happy happy.

Ada sat on either Teesh's lap or mine and was mesmerized by the whole show. It was cute to hear her laugh and giggle as watched the animals perform.

a

These tightrope walkers were amazing. They were riding bikes and doing all kinds of crazy stuff all without any hiccup.

This lady flying through the air was shot out of the cannon. It was so cool.

There were about 6 to 8 people that were jumping from this tall structure onto the trampoline and doing a routine all synchronized, mind blowing.

These two gentlemen would run around these circular things while it was spinning. They would have to jump to go upside down. The timing had to be perfect. It was fascinating to watch.

What a great experience we had. I have to say I love that my little girls are able to entertained so we as an entire family get to sit and enjoy our adventures. Great planning Malia, we all had a day to remember.
