A man to remember

Earnest Walter Hansen what an extraordinary man.
You left us all way too soon. What  a great example of love, patience, and forgiveness you demonstrated. My older girls will remember you for your goofy hand gestures and words like "careful, careful" sadly my little ones will not remember Grandpa Hansen except through stories. Grandpa loved to eat. He loved to sleep. He cracked me up when he would come for a visit and be here a short time then insist on getting back home. I would inquire, "what do you have going on back at home", "Oh, you know it is always good to be home."  Then he typically would settle into our recliner or sofa and take a snooze.
The last time we were with Grandpa Hansen was for Bria's 3 year old birthday celebration. She wanted to go swimming so off to the West Valley Rec center we went. Earnest went down the slide and lost his footing and was feeling like we would drown. We all watched from a distance laughing at the sight, sorry Earnest, I am sure it was super scary from your point of view but come on, the pool was less than 3 feet deep. Another great memory with the swimming was when he would get out of the pool, his swim trunks were hanging down quite low, a plumber might be envious.
Earnest, we miss you. You were the glue to keep our family together. Yes, you were quirky but we loved you anyway.
I know you are doing great and marvelous things on the other side. Until we meet again, know that you are missed!
